Senior Moments

Senior Moments was developed for a local assisted living facility, for use by its events coordinator. Finding relevant local activities for residents — library programs, senior-center classes, community meetups — normally means checking a scattered set of library and Parks & Rec calendars by hand each week.

The application scrapes and filters event listings from a set of local library and community sources within a fixed radius, and publishes the results as a weekly digest page. Each digest lists that week’s events with date, time, location, and a short description, sourced directly from the originating library or organization.

The pipeline runs on a weekly schedule and republishes automatically, so the events coordinator has a current, ready-to-use list of nearby programming to draw on when planning activities, without visiting each source calendar individually.
